My large-scale illusions are inspired by the mental battles of delusion: persecutory, passivity experience and grandeur. The subject of my work is how I visualize these delusions as if they were art. My artwork shows silhouettes of African American males and females; this was very important to me because black mental health is not talked about enough, especially BLACK MEN! I use illusions as a symbol for the expression of delusion since people who experience delusion have some false sense, which the definition of illusion is “a thing that is or is likely to be wrongly perceived or interpreted by the senses.” The silhouettes illustrate the darkness one feels when trapped in an illusion.

Delusion of grandeur is a false belief in one's power or importance. It may be a symptom of a mental health disorder and can cause confusion between what is real and what is not. A delusion is a false belief held by a person. It contradicts reality or what is commonly considered true.

Delusion of control has different names, including delusion of passivity, passivity experience, and passivity phenomenon. According to the patient's narrative, his thoughts, emotions, perceptions or actions are under the control of a different agent: either another person, a spirit, a machine, or unknown forces.

The delusion that someone is trying to harm you is called a persecutory delusion. It's a false belief that someone or something is mistreating, spying on, or planning to harm you or someone close to you. People with persecutory delusions may firmly believe this is true, even when there's no proof. They may also make repeated complaints to legal authorities.
